The rivers of Greece are relatively small; they follow the direction of valleys and discharge into the Greek seas. They are generally shallow and descend in rapids; none of them is navigable, with the exception of Evros and Loudia Rivers which in certain parts are navigable by boat.
The rivers offering great rafting experience in Greece are Arachtos, Tavropos River, Pinios River (Vernezi) in North Greece and Lousios River in Peloponnese. While rafting in the rivers of Greece one can experience the pleasure of some eye catching beauty of nature with sandy beaches line the river at intervals, allowing river rafters to pull up alongside. The either sides covered with oak, pine, spruce and fur, with the occasional settlements and its terraced fields dotting the landscape. Wildlife is visible at a distance, comprising mainly of spotted deer, and some rare animal species, while multi-hued butterflies fit among flowering bushes.
For a real wild and adventurous trip to explore exciting water rapids or the scenic beauty Down Under Greece is defiantly not a place to miss.
